Abstract
Amebiasis is observed worldwide. Usual symptoms of amebiasis include bloody stool, diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever and weight loss. Severe form of amebiasis is associated with perforation, pseudopolyp, peritonitis, toxic megacolon and ameboma. An
ameboma represents a localized amebic infection with organized granulation tissue and is almost found in cecum and rectum. We report a case of ameboma of rectum detected incidentally without specific symptom, with review of relevant literature.
